I got in to the habit of typing "aptitude install..." instead of "apt-get
install" when aptitude has better dependency tracking.

I realise that apt-get caught up and so I could go back to using it.

What makes you describe the use of aptitude as idiotic?

(I'm not attempting to start a flamewar here, I'm genuinely curious).
