[Gllug] Friday follies: Firefox add-on

Within a browser, is there a means of caching form data just as one
presses 'send'?

Am not a great one for 'Internet chat' type tools, but have been
attending training this week, which utilises a web-based chat session,
ie HTML forms. Many users (and I) have complained that sometimes we type
a question/contribution but somehow it is never received by the system
and/or promulgated back out to the team.

Is there a Firefox Add-on (or such), which will secure the data just as
it is transmitted from an HTML form, eg to the clipboard, so that one
could revert or 'paste' it back, should the transmission fail? Normal
browser behavior is that once 'send' is pressed, the data is gone/'lost'.

Have looked on the FF Add-ons site but got lost in the sheer volume of
stuff that wants to remember my name and address for re-play (etc) -
possibly a terminology mis-match...

Please advise,
=dn
