Dear list,

We have a vacancy at the Centre for e-Research at King's College
London for a software developer. A quick job summary:

The Centre for e-Research at King's College London is seeking a software
developer to work on the Kindura project (http://kindura.cerch.kcl.ac.uk).
The position is suitable for an experienced developer who is interested in
learning about cloud technologies.

Kindura is a JISC-funded project that is developing a pilot cloud computing
solution at King's that incorporates both external cloud providers (such as
Amazon) and internal cloud infrastructure. The purpose of this pilot is to
support researchers, both by managing research data (integrated with a Fedora
Commons digital repository system) and by allowing the execution of
computation- intensive processing. The system will be prototyped across a
number of disciplines, possibly including environmental science, financial
mathematics, biomedical science and the humanities.

As well as software development, the role will involve work on requirements,
architecture and evaluation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain
experience at the forefront of research computing infrastructure and cloud
computing.

Kindura is being carried out in collaboration with the Science and Technology
Facilities Research Council and the work will require frequent interaction.

	Location: Central London (Drury Lane)

	Duration: 1 year

Salary: Salary for this position will be at an appropriate point of
Grade 6, currently between £33,070 and £39,074 per annum
(inclusive of London allowance). Benefits include a
contributory final salary pension scheme, subsidised gym
