[Gllug] Starting a daemon

That's assuming a degree of sophistication in the3 daemon. I've got a
program that just runs. If I start it, it hangs a terminal session. I
want it to run in the background.I'm trying to remember a command that
starts a process and returns control to the terminal.Or am I confusing
Linux with some other operating system?
