In case people have not run into it, we quite like Opsview Community 
edition:

http://www.opsview.com/

It's got two of the most prolific Nagios committees behind it and for 
Nagios people, is akin to falling off a piece of a tree...

We prefer it to the other Nagios spin-offs.

OTOH, for fancy dependency-shmependancy stuff it's hard to beat plain 
Nagios - we use both.
