like your thinking.

My mind went along the lines of a "murmuration" of swallows (and of
engineers conferring their doubt/ignorance amongst themselves/hoping
'we' won't hear them). They are rarely cheerful in such a state, hence a
"brood" (of hens). They ALWAYS come at 'the wrong time', so maybe a
"harras" (horses)?

Network engineers might find a "route" (wolves) applicable. Blade and
server farm engineers may constitute an "array" (hedgehogs). I guess
that a "cloud" of gnats would cause you them to spit and splutter. MSFT
Engineers would be a "bloat" of hippopotami.

My nomination however would be a "crash" (hippos, rhinos, even seals).

Regards,
=dn

PS whilst on the subject: would I be shot for mentioning an
"implausibility" of gnu?
