[Gllug] Problems with HP DAT drive

Hi,

a customer of mine had recent problems with a USB attached HP DAT drive. It had been
working well for almost 2 years - then at the end of a backup hung. I got it back
by powering off for a few minutes. Worked for a bit and then died again; the device
/dev/st0 just disappears.

I contact the supplier - freecom; who suggest downloading/running an HP tool
'ltt' - this seems almost completely useless and has a hostile UI.
Freecom then say that they only support MS Windows and that Linux support is
''via the community'' - they hear Grrr noises from me & agree to accept an error report.

Anyway, does anyone know what the following means:

CentOS 5.4 64 bit system running kernel 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5.centos.plus
