Hi Patrick,

The GLLUG website has a map of where the building is,
http://www.gllug.org.uk/. Once you are inside follow the beards or ask
at the desk. I'm usually hanging around till 1925 to pick up lost
people like yourself and send them in the right direction.

There is no such rule as far as I'm aware. We only did it to John
because we thought he was gullible enough to believe it :).
