This is true.
There's a more specific list of issues with SPF on the wiki link I included.
However, if anyone is on a setup that can be SPF configured, I would
encourage you to try it, since in my experience (which includes running
commercial and personal mail through 'SMTP badlands' such as mainland
China) I've found that it does in fact help.
