Unsurprisingly, the macro functionality is deliberately omitted from the
trial versions - either because they don't want to show how poorly
macros perform (the performance is spectacularly bad) or because they
don't want their prospective customers to experience the fun that can be
had due to the labours of the macro-virus writing script-kiddies!
Just tell this government department to remove their heads from the sand
and realise that a very significant proportion of their prospective
respondents do not have a copy of "Word", and that at £LOTS, most won't
buy it just to fill in their forms.
Also point out that the vast majority of the people who DO have "Word"
will not have a "legitimate" copy, and do they really think that it's a
good idea for the government to be seen to encourage the use of
"pirated" software?
