My local council technical services group appears to lease facilities
from a contractor, but I have been told that Unix compatible systems are
used in the background. However I have been told that they are keeping a
close watch on councils which are already making much more use of FOSS.
Obviously any move in that direction may result in job losses amongst
Microsoft Only sysadmins.
