[Gllug] tar -jcvf

Hi,

I have a server with 4 CPUs in it.
I recently wished to tar.bz2 a large amount of data.
So I did:
tar -jcvf filename.tar.bz2  /folder-to-backup

It managed to process at about 4Mbps.
The cause of the slow progress was that the cpu was at 99%
It only used one of the 4 CPUs for the task. The server was doing
nothing else at the time.

Does anyone know of a program similar to tar, but that can use more
than one CPU at a time?
