You are making the mistake of trying to find an intelligent and logical
solution to the wrong problem.

Most of the people here seem to be trying to find a way to get off-site
backups, but those are explicitly forbidden. The real problem is that
they have been given a set of instructions by people with authority but
no understanding and have to choose the best solution that complies with
the instructions as given. This eliminates any sane solution so you have
to choose the best of the insane ones.
