I've heard some good ones in my time, but that idea is pure lunacy...
Speaking of which, the fate of Linux Conf Australia
(http://lca2011.linux.org.au/) scheduled for 24-29 January hangs in the
balance because of the horrendous flooding in Brisbane/QLD. The venue is
in doubt, also the ability of the city to accept such an influx of
people on top of everything else.
The local committee plan to make a stop-go decision at the weekend.
However whilst the Queensland State planners were initially concerned
about a (slightly lower than feared) peak in the drainage flow
(yesterday), they are not focussing on another as a result of next
week's Spring tide.
(ie the (full) moon and the sun will be in alignment - interestingly in
Australia's republican patois, a "Spring tide" is known as a "King tide").
