Thanks Richard. It has to be a driver though. The part I was working on
now was just one small part of it. It has to do other stuff like servicing
interrupts and communicating directly with other drivers.

Most of the stuff I need is in the Linux Device Drivers book, though in
this case I couldn't find exactly what was the correct thing. The latest
edition is already a few kernel releases out of date, so maybe that is
why.
