My company is looking for a talented systems administrator here is the spec
Linux System Administrator Job Description
This position is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance
and monitoring of all Linux systems.The systems administrator will support
daily operations and help develop strategies to improve availability and
utilization of Linux environments.
Requirements
- 2 years administration experience in a Linux environment supporting
business critical systems.
- excellent written and spoken English are essential.
- Personally identify and carry out administration tasks on the servers
when required.
- Manage your own priorities and work flow
- Identify new requirements and implement them
- Provide input to the policies and procedures related to equipment
purchase, use, support, monitoring, security, and backup.
- Maintain and extend system monitoring systems.
- Support the development team when required.
- Provide DR contingency and data recovery across all platforms.
- Monitor system availability and provide out of hours support for all
web systems when necessary.
- continuously improve and automate repetitive tasks with system
configuration tools.
Technologies Required
Experience with the following: Apache2, Ubuntu/Debian, BASH,
postfix/exim/sendmail, Mysql, TCP/IP, DNS, Bind and Nagios.
Desirable
Not essential but would be seen as advantageous: Rails, Passenger, Solr,
Capistrano, Chef, Puppet, Munin, Git/Subversion, Rackspace cloud/Amazon EC2,
MongoDB and Ruby.
Location
Whitechapel, East London
Salary£30,000 to £35,000 (dependant on experience)
