It does very nice upscaling on DVDs too.  However it's worth trying your
television's own built in network playback, assuming it's relatively new
(1-2 years).  They all have reasonable DLNA client capabilities, and I
believe some can support the uPnP push method so you can actually stream
audio/pictures/video from some devices like an Android phone at your TV
and it'll just pop up.
