I have been told that Apples will boot and run Knoppix if you hold down
the Alt key at switch on, (friends use it for testing Apples after hardware
maintenance), and that would allow you to copy files as you wish.
Alternatively use your older PC to run Knoppix.
Many USB memory sticks are supplied ready DOS formatted, do you need to
change them or use unformatted sticks? Do you need a different format?
I have copies of knoppix, but near North Acton Central Line, not close.
Can travel if needed.
