I dual boot a Mac Mini. The thing you must have is the Apple SuperDrive
to boot Linux from (they sell it as the "MacBook Air SuperDrive"). The
Mac Mini will not boot another OS from a third-party drive. I tried with
a Samsung, and it never worked.
