Thanks for the replies!  As a big fan of ZFS on Solaris - $NewDayJob has
thousands of them - I'm not quite sure why it slipped my mind!

I shall certainly experiment with it and BTRFS a little more once I get the
exam next week out of the way and backed up my data properly...
