It has been that way for a while but I was able to register a new
connection manually by sending an email.

I've stuck with UKFSN for years because the free unlimited off-peak
usage is too good of a deal to pass up. If there's secretly a cap,
I've never hit it. Wouldn't the cost of email and web hosting be less
than that of the amount of bandwidth you're currently getting for
free?
