I give mine a terrific amount of abuse (and I mean a big amount), so 
they do last me only around nine-twelve months. I particularly like the 
side straps - keeping zips away from the ends much reduces accidentally 
running them off the rails; the capacity - it'll take a 17" laptop if 
necessary, plus plenty left over for tupperware boxes full of bits as 
well as disk boxes and tool bags; and still more room I use for keys, 
diary etc and side pockets for useful wires on one side, a USB/IDE/SATA 
doobrey on the other.
