I've found a BT Home Hub 3 flashed with "Lede" (used to be dd-wrt) is 
suitably impenetrable!  You can find them pre-flashed on Ebay for 
between £20 and £30 if you can't be bothered to do it yourself, or you 
can get a secondhand / discarded HH3 for £5 - £10.
