Ah, the cardigans. :-)
And the yoof today think Cardigans are a Swedish band...
On a slight tangent, while CAD has been making loudspeakers a lot better
these days, it seems that the source media is getting worse. I find it
very amusing to hear about "the quality of vinyl", and at the time if
you wanted decent quality you needed a £2K turntable & stylus and a pair
of LP's precision glued together, or a special extra-thick edition, and
the whole lot set up ina clean room. I remember lusting after open reel
tapes running at 15fps.
But ever since CD's it seems to have been going downhill, first with 16
bit sampling killing the top end and then MP3 compression killing the
dynamic range. It's not like we need to save disk space any more, but
while there are better formats out there, if they aren't being taken
from the masters, there is no point, and seems to me record companies
made so much money replacing LP's with CD's they are not going to do
anything they don't have full control over, hence really supporting the
whole vinyl revival.
Anyway, enough musings.
l8r, as the kids say
