[Gloucs] make gcc switch

O'Reilly books are usually good. I haven't seen the Qt one.
"Professional Linux Programming" by Wrox is superb and has a lengthy chapter on Qt.
I found that once I had the basics, I could learn best from the Trolltech documentation and samples.
