Hi Guys
I am sorry I have not been to any of the Tuesday meetings, but my wife has
started working late, on Tuesdays, and I have to free to fetch her from
work.
Anyway the reason I am writing, is a few weeks ago I ask if anyone knew
how to install to Gnome desktop in SuSE, I have finally managed to work
it out an thought I would post, so any one else who is interested can try
it out.
OK here goes, click on the SuSE work menu, from the administration menu,
chose Yast2 control center, enter your root password, click on install
software, when Yast loads, in the left hand panel, click in the box next
to Gnome, and put your disk, or DVD, in the drive when asked.
After Yast2 has written the configuration files, reboot, you should now
be able to chose Gnome from the drop down menu in the log in screen.
Have fun
Jim
Ps I did this with SuSE 8.2 but I can see no reason why it should not work
with any other version.
