[Gloucs] CDRW Problems

Hi all

Hoping you can help with this one...

I have a Mitsumi IDE CDRW as my only CD drive. I can mount a data CD (as root)
and view the contents. I can't use the drive as a CD player (won't mount) or
as a re/writer.

I am using Mandrake 9.1. I checked the kernel config and SCSI emulation is
turned on.

I (try to) use K3b as my burning software. In the K3b setup it sees the
writer, not the drive as a reader, but when it comes to burning it doesn't
let me see the drive.

A few of complaints at bash include:

bash: cd: /mnt/cdrom/: Input/output error
eject: unable to eject, last error: Invalid argument
and my favourite...
umount: it seems /mnt/cdrom is mounted multiple times

Any pointers would be much appreciated

Cheers
