Hi,
I'm having to do this as root!!!
Don't try this at home!!!!
Mandrake re-partitioning DOES NOT WORK!!!
Well it does something but not what you'd expect, when it re-writes the
partition tables it shuffles them up leaving no gaps!!!
Now my /home contains the contents of the old (ex SuSE) /opt and /opt (after a
rescue, contains nothing.
BE WARNED
NOW!!!
Does anyone know the correct syntax for "parted"?
If I can avoid re-installation I will.
I need to loose /dev/sda9 and /dev/sda8 (was /home and /opt) resize /dev/sda7
-IS still /var and then recreate /dev/sda8 as /home.
Then I can re-build the users and restore their data.
I have tried it whilst still running "runlevel 5" and get "partition does not
exist" on /dev/sda7 when I issue the command:-
parted 7 resize 7716.016 3072
OR
parted /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/7 resize 7716.016 3072
OR
parted /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/part7 resize 7716.016 3072
OR
parted 7 resize 7716.016 3072
OR
parted /dev/sda7 resize 7716.016 3072
Can anyone help with this?
Cheers
