[Gloucs] Scanner and SANE problems.

Hi,
	I've just installed the newest versions of SANE (backends and frontends, and 
xsane) from their website. When I use scanimage -L it says no scanners found. 
However when I use sane-find-scanner it DOES find my scanner (a Hewlett 
Packard 5400) on the USB port. 

I'm using Slackware 9.1 installed from the Linux Format magazine CD.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
