Maybe they are corrupted, and got that way during the download. How did
you download them? What do you get when you run md5sum on them? I get
this for the second one:
mick at cmpc37:~$ md5sum GNU-FDL-OO-LPI-102-0.0.sxw
0b134a892833116656e6c89ac55a8a82 GNU-FDL-OO-LPI-102-0.0.sxw
I'm sure I could make a pdf or four and pass them on
to you if we can't fix it, they are released under the GNU Free
documentation license, after all.
