Here at MessageLabs, we are looking for a new recruit within Team Infrastructure. The details have yet to be officially announce on the MessageLabs website, but the basic details are:

COMPANY:          MessageLabs
JOB TITLE:        Software Engineer
DEPARTMENT:	      Product Development				
REPORTING TO:     Technical Architect/Development Manager (Infrastructure)
LOCATION:         Gloucester Business Park	
SALARY:           £25-30k 	

PROFILE OF JOB HOLDER:

Essential

-     Educated to at least Degree level, in a computing related subject, with 
      2 years relevant commercial experience.
  OR
      At least 3 years experience in an IT role with programming experience.
-     Minimum 2 years experience in Perl/C programming in a Unix/Linux environment.
-     Working knowledge of writing software on at least one of the following
      operating systems: Unix, Linux or Windows NT/2000/XP.

Desirable

-     Knowledge of other programming languages, such as C++ or Java.
-     Knowledge of IIS, HTTP, HTML, XML, .NET and SOAP web technologies.
-     Experience of System Administration on Unix/Linux.
-     Working knowledge of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, SMTP and POP3.
-     Knowledge of email systems, particularly MIME and RFC822.
-     Experience of SQL, in particular with Microsoft SQL Server.
-     An understanding of Relational Database technologies
-     Knowledge of Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus techniques.
-     Knowledge of PPM and RPM creation and installation.
-     Knowledge of at least one version control system.

The Infrastructure Team develops software tools that support and service the global architecture and infrastructure of MessageLabs operations.
