Christain,

You need to store the DNS IP addresses in your ADSL modem/router.  The 
instructions to set it up should point to how to do this.  From your note, I 
take it that your ISP has provided these addresses. 

I use SUSE 9.2 and once the modem/router is configured internet access works 
fine, without needing to change any of the standard settings.
