[Gloucs] Re: XGL & Compiz

Not used them on Ubuntu but have set it up under SUSE 10.1 and whilst I
have to say it does look amazing it has several issues that prevent it
from being usefull for me, the main one being the inability to run Cedega.
 Having to switch to a non-accelerated X server before I can get my WoW
fix is just more hassle than I can be bothered with.

That said it's nice to see Linux desktop technology incorporating some
purely "eye-candy" features, and if we're being honest about the only
truely usefull facility is the ability to shrink all of your windows into
a thumbnail view (which can be done with already without XGL).

Definitely a step in the right direction although I am not getting truely
pant-wettingly excited about anything pre-KDE 4.
