Hi Christian.
1. I believe the fault may lie with the laptop drive. I have the Medion
2030 laptop. I can run any distro including any Mepis but for some
reason Fedora 5 refused to load. I tried two different magazines DVD and
even bought it on 5 CD's. No one could say why it wouldn't load. Theses
same disk happily load on any other computer.
2. Sorry don't have any experience with Suse so can't help with this
question. Did have sound problems when running Studio-To-Go. Check the
sound mixer settings. Toggle different settings. I found a control for
external amplifier on mine. When I switched the ext. amp off the sound
came thru' perfectly. Hope this helps.

Hello all,
A friend of mine has a problem to start a Mepis Live CD from his
notebook. The message of Grub is:
minimal bash like
his Notebook is a:
Notebook: Medion MID2020 (MD41054)
Processor: Intel pentium Mobile 4, 2800Mhz (21x133)
RAM: 512 DDR SDRAM
Motherboard: Sis 650
Graphics: Sis 650
Sound: Sis 7012 Audio Device
USB Controller: Sis 7001 PCI USB
A SUse 9.3 runs fairly good and the install CD did not have any
problems but he has still has problems with sound.
Does anyone has an idea what is going wrong here. Thank you very much
in advance for all answers....
