Hello All,

Question concerning screen resolution. I have a 19" widescreen. The
x-server startet with a resolution of "1280x1024". The debian login
screen is fine and KDE as well with this resolution. But the best
resolution of the widescreen is "1440x900". So I added the "1440x900"
resolution to the xorg.conf and could after restarting of the x-server
choose the "1440x900" from the display options in KDE.

Three problems occur after this:

1. I have to change the refresh rate from 50 to 58 Hz to have not a
blurred screen but after this, the display is perfect.
2. I have to activate the option "Apply settings on KDE startup" to
keep the "1440x900" with the 58 Hz otherwise I loose them every time I
start the KDE
3. I have no influence on the display in the login screen where I find
the "1440x900" resolution with the blurred display with 50 Hz.

Do you have ideas how to activate the "1440x900" plus 58 Hz right from
the beginning also in the login screen and not only when KDE starts?
Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Christian

The xorg.conf looks so:
