Hi Simon,

I went through with dpkg and I still have the same problem. I enter
the resolution and the refresh rate in KDE display module and activate
the "Load when KDE starts" then it works fine as soon as KDE starts.
But I have to do this for every user. This would not be the problem if
the login screen into KDE would have the correct resolution and
refresh rate. But the letters in the login screen are hardly to read
and the login screen is bigger than my monitor. Is there a way to
force the resolution/refreshrate of the loginscreen like in the
usermode of KDE? The other thing is that although I have once removed
all entries of the resolution from the xconf.org beside my 1440x900
that there are still loads of others like 800x600 or 1440x1024 etc.
Makes it perhaps sense to switch off the ddc as the x-server gets the
resolution of the monitor when loading the xorg.conf?

Thanks in advance
Christian
