You are all aware of that unpleasantness that occured a while back when
I gave my talk on VPNs i.e. that I couldn't get my laptop's wireless
card working with Linux so I had to use, (hushes voice) the Scottish
operating system.
Anyhoo, good news. Revisiting the problem a google threw up an
interesting Ubuntu wiki link. One Ubuntu install and step by step guide
later and it's all working.
Now the next challenge.
So, speakers at LUG talks don't have to worry about port filtering on
the wireless network, I'd like to configure my laptop as a gateway.
The idea is:
Laptop wired interface is used as gateway for speakers via hub/switch.
My laptop takes all the traffic hitting that IP and send it down an SSH
tunnel over the wireless link to a host on the net with unfettered access.
Is this possible (not started looking yet)?
