I'm surprised to hear that. We are a Linux consultancy company and we have
recruited from LUG lists in the past, and would do so again (so long as
such activity isn't prohibited by the list). It's a way for us to find
people who know about and are interested in Linux, and it's not
unreasonable to think that at any particular time some LUG readers may be
interested in changing jobs and wish to work with Linux all day. I suppose
any readers who are happy in their jobs may be irritated by a job advert -
but then again, a lot of posts to LUG lists are only of interest to a
subset of the readership.
