[Gloucs] Playing Video DVDs.

I wish to play,  for my own viewing,  commercial Video DVDs on my Ubuntu 
Lucid (amd64)  laptop.

It appears to be forbidden.

I do not wish to "rip"  or copy my (fully paid for)  DVDs.

Any suggestions ?
