CentOS - Red Hat without the branding.

Fedora - unstable development version which may, eventually, feed into Red Hat.

Just use CentOS 5.5, you know it makes sense. [Though if you're used to Ubuntu, it's awfully
old and it even mekes Debian stable look fairly current].
