[Gloucs] Debian updates.

I have been using Debian as my main workhorse ever since  Woody.   I 
normally use KDE  (stripped of all themes, and eye-candy).
However I will be forced to switch to Gnome (which I have been trying 
out)  unless I can upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze without  getting
KDE 4.x.

What is the best way to upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze without getting 
lumbered with KDE4  ?

I could switch to Gnome,  but my wife likes my simplified  KDE.  One 
possibility would be to teach  Lynda to use Gnome.
My son already has Ubuntu KK on his laptop.

I would prefer to delete newer versions  of KDE from the package list,  
but upgrade the rest.
