Subject: [Herefordshire] Decent cheap Linux WLAN cards
Hi
For anyone interested, someone on the Shropshire LUG list mentioned about
these :-
http://www.solwise.co.uk/wireless-el-2511cd2ext2m.htm £22.99
EEE 802.11b+ 11Mbps PCMCIA Card (Prism 3 Chipset) 2 MMCX antenna sockets
The best thing is that they have EXTERNAL antenna connectors if you are into
connecting external antennas for more gain. The std cards usually have
reverse connectors instead which means lots of faffing around with odd
adaptors .
But these - they're easy.
They're also PRISM3 based so theoretically should work with all Linux
distro's
(distributions)
Julian
