Hello Andrew,

If you look on the members page you will find the general distros that some
people are using though not the actual versions. At least it's a start.
Have a good holiday.

Noel.

Hi,

Well I will not be there as I am on holiday. One thing the Malvern LUG do
is to have meetings at someone's house to avoid the use of laptops and other
complications when demoing equipment. While this probably isn't the right
time to do this, it may be something to think about for the future. As for
distributions, it may be preferable to compile a list of distros that people
have so that if necessary people know what is available and if someone wants
something different, they can ask and we will see if we can arange for it.
I have several older distributions available, plus a quick start network
router pack including mail server and the like called SME Server, which is
good if you want to get everything working without modifications, and is the
basis for my main Linux box (although it doesn't bare much resemblance to
the original distro now!!). However, as I am seriously considdering
changing distro altogether, I would like to know what people currently have
so that I could perhaps get a copy?

Andrew.

Hello everyone,

The next Herefordshire Lug meeting will be on Thursday 19.8.2004, see the
Events page for more details.

Since the last meeting the web site and mailing list have gone live so we
now have somewhere to discuss things amongst ourselves.

At the meeting.

There was a lot of noise at the Spread Eagle last time, if that persists we
may need to go elsewhere. We also need to think about north/south meetings.
This was mentioned on list recently, any other offers?

What do you want from your web site? Content, style, interactivity etc..
Julian will outline his ideas for interactive web pages.

Can any of you bring Linux laptop/s along please?

We also need to think about marketing ourselves and getting some publicity
going. I have made a tentative approach to the Hereford Times but we need
someone to take this on.

If anyone wants copies of any distros etc.. please speak now and don't
forget to bring the equivalent number of blank CD's along as well.

If you have any thoughts about the above please post them so that we can be
thinking them over for next week.

Hope to see you all next Thursday.

Noel.
