[Herefordshire] Seeking bootable heavy load utility for a PC

Hello HLUG,
Please can anyone suggest where to find or how to make a bootable CD,
that can be used in the absence of any operating system, in order to
heavily stress a computer system in as many ways as possible? Features
would include intensive CPU usage, serious data transfer between RAM
and hard disk, heavy graphics etc.
(This quest follows my having replaced some leaky under-rated
capacitors on a motherboard recently; pre-repair symptoms were
crashing during sustained HDD access. I need to check that I've really
made a difference.)
So far I've only found a Win app called HeavyLoad v2, which would be
good if it were bootable, but to make it so would require something
like BartPE (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/) which I'm still trying to
figure out how to use!
I'd rather keep M$ apps out of the equation, so all thoughts
appreciated.
Best regards,
