[Herefordshire] How to i cahnge my X login dispaly mgr to GDM from KDM ?

i searched on a forum and got these hints of where to look 

/etc/init.d

/etc/rc.d/rc.4

~/.xinitrc 

try running xwmconfig as root and choose the wm you want for your user

Comment out the lines about kdm  in /etc/rc.d/rc.4

Unfortunately, i'm using mad 10.1 which doesnt have this file. Any
ideas ?
