[Herefordshire] Spinrite replacement ??

Hi

We are occasional users of 'Spinrite' the disk check / test tool 
www.grc.com. Its very useful and now works with Linux disks but 
unfortunately for a business licence you have to buy four current 
copies, bit much for small companies who rarely use it .....

Is there anything similar to Spinrite that is Open Source ? It doesn't 
matter too much if it is command line based as long as it does the job.

Something that boots from a floppy disk /cd would be preferred....
