[Herefordshire] hard disk problems

Hi,

I had an IBM Deskstar drive on which this happened to, and I managed to fix
it by sticking it in the freezer for 20 minutes (really!).  I also tend to
run Spinrite on drives I can't get working, but if the heads aren't spinning
it may not work.  I have a copy of Spinrite if anyone wants it.

got a problem with an 80GB laptop drive, on which I think the heads are
stuck. Its got some sensitive (business) information on it, which means
I can't send it off for recovery, 

has know of anyone who has the tools etc to open it up ? so that I can
see if the heads free up or indeed smash the platters,
