[HLUG] lan communication with headsets

hi,

i've set up a lan were i live and i've been gaming with one of my
housemates. we want to communicate with headsets, but we don't want to
have to figure out the settings on each game. we want a seperate
programs that runs in the background.

i'm using linux and he's using windows, so we need a program that runs
on both. gpl for preference. we're not connected to the internet, so
i'm guessing that rules out icq, msm etc.

any sugestions?
