[HLUG] Free Linspire for all

Hi,

Have the product now - downloaded in around an hour using Bittorrent.  Will check out the live version.  I read an article this morning which said they were trying to get other people from the Lindows OS to Linspire by upgrading to this free new version because of the trademark issue.  I wonder how many users they actually have?

There was also a Freespire project which was building the GPL source without all the licensable extras, but the name had to be changed.

They've been fighting with MS for years, that's why they had to change the name, and I think that this is just a way of getting their product better known.

  similar offers before, and that they apparently have a package manager

  Yeah i got it, i just added it to cart then in the view cart section 
  clicked on add coupon and then when that page loaded typed in 
  'freespire' then it redirected me to the cart page with a discount valve

  of $49.99 then went to check out created new account then when to my 
  program page and cd downloads and downloaded linspire using bittorrent 
  as the FTP had a cue of like 300+ peps waitng.
