Hi,

For me the Linux from scratch would definitely be the way to go.
However, instead of using a duel processor server, it would be
interesting to try and use a flash based device?

Andrew.

Subject: [HLUG] Group Project - Suggestions please

Hi All,

It was suggested at the last meeting that we should have a group
project. This would give us something to focus on during meetings and
help everybody improve their Linux knowledge and skills.

The following two suggestions have been made:

Tim suggested that we build an in-car MP3 player based on Linux, there
is already a distribution that is tailored for type of application
called CMMS. We already have a diverse skill set in the group for a
project like this.

BoX has offered an old dual-processor server to the group that we could
built our own Linux system on using Linux from Scratch. Great
opportunity here the grapple with and understand the most basic parts of
a Linux system.

Any more suggestions are more than welcome, in fact positively
encouraged! :-)

Cheers
Mark
